The Southwest Tour Trucks visited Irwindale Speedway on May the 4th and once again these talented drivers put on a heck of a show.  Two races this season and two races run from start to finish without caution flags.  These guys understand that tearing the trucks up means spending money to fix them so they run them hard but they run them clean. 

It was a beautiful day at Saturday the temperature was in the low 80s and a great day for racing. 

In qualifying, the pole position was taken by Neil Conrad with a 20.2
Second was Ronnie Davis  20.4
Third was Zack Green with 20.5
Fourth Ed Cutler 20.5
Fifth Cecil Phelps 20.9

For the main event, a 6-truck invert put Kirk Knostman and Cecil Phelps on the front row.

When the main started it was obvious that Knostman truck was not at full power but Cecil Phelps was running the race of his life. He took the lead and held on for several laps but Cecil was having a transmission problem and finally he had to go to the infield.  

Zack Green in the #27 truck took the lead and at first it looked as though he would be able to maintain it. Neil Conrad the pole sitter had to start in 6th and was moving to the front. Neil and Zack had a really good battle for many laps then Neil took the lead and began to stretch it out. 

Ed Cutler #4 and Ronnie Davis #78 battled for third though out the entire race. Ronnie had third and Ed wanted it, then Ed had third and Ronnie wanted it.  

A three truck battled that lasted most of the race was between Mike Gilboy #83, Alan Rizzone #9 and Kirk Knostman #35. Three guys all racing for 5th made a great show and although they were racing hard all three raced clean.  

Rounding out the field was Dan Coburn #21, James West #11, Shawn Rizzone #99, Steve Reeves #5, George Perret #2, and Cecil Phelps #66.
